Our journey began in 1948 with the founding of Shanghai Yongxin Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. In 1963, WhiteCat revolutionized China’s household cleaning industry, introducing the first synthetic laundry detergent and spray-drying tower—setting new industry standards.

1963

WhiteCat born

The WhiteCat trademark was successfully registered, and the trial production of WhiteCat-branded synthetic laundry powder was successfully launched nationwide, gaining widespread popularity across China. Additionally, the country’s first spray-drying tower capable of producing hollow spherical washing powder was constructed, marking a significant advancement in detergent manufacturing technology.

1963

Innovation in Packaging and Market Launch

WhiteCat revolutionized China’s cleaning industry by introducing its first branded detergent and developing the country’s first washing powder paper bag packaging machine. These innovations laid the foundation for WhiteCat’s commitment to smarter, sustainable, and effective cleaning solutions.

1981

China National Recognition for Quality

The WhiteCat laundry powder was honoured with the prestigious "National Quality Silver Award" by the National Economic Commission, solidifying its reputation for exceptional quality and reliability.

1983

Launch of Super Concentrated Laundry Powder

The first pack of Super Concentrated Laundry Powder was successfully developed, mass-produced, and launched on the market, offering a powerful and efficient cleaning solution.

1994

Establishment of Shanghai WhiteCat Co., Ltd.

On January 6, Shanghai WhiteCat Co., Ltd. was officially established as a joint venture between the Shanghai Synthetic Detergent Factory and SHK Hong Kong Industries Ltd., marking the beginning of its operations.

1995

China Golden Bridge Award Recognition

Since 1992, WhiteCat Laundry Powder has been honoured with the prestigious "Golden Bridge Award" for National Best-Selling Domestic Products. This accolade was awarded by seven national ministries and commissions for four consecutive years, highlighting its exceptional performance and popularity.

2004

China Famous Brand Recognition

WhiteCat Liquid Detergent was honoured as a "China Famous Brand" by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, reflecting its superior quality and trusted reputation.

2006

Formation of a Sino-Foreign Joint Venture

In March, Hutchison Whampoa (China) Co., Ltd. acquired 80% of the equity in Shanghai WhiteCat (Group) Co., Ltd. to establish the Shanghai Hutchison WhiteCat Co., Ltd., marking the creation of a significant sino-foreign joint venture.

2017

National Recognition for Technological Excellence

In 2017, leveraging years of accumulated technological expertise, the company’s Technology Centre helped secure another national honour—the title of "High-Tech Enterprise", showcasing its innovation and commitment to advanced technology.

Launch of Thetis – A New Era of Cleanliness
